I Am Now a College Graduate

by FormerBigSpender on May 17, 2010

As of this past weekend, I am officially a college graduate. I’m a firm believer that you can succeed in life without a college degree however if a degree is part of your business goals then I believe you should absolutely pursue higher education. I received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Multimedia Writing and Technical Communication. Now that I am no longer a full-time student, I can begin the process of expanding my writing business. More business = more income = more money going towards my debt snowball = less time to Baby Step 3.

My husband and I are doing great with our BS2 process. We have paid down 15% of our BS2 debt and we should be up to nearly 26% paid off as of the end of this month. My husband’s commission check is about 70% higher than originally expected – woo!

I listen to my Dave Ramsey podcasts daily. I find that this helps me stay motivated and on track. We’re still looking at a summer 2011 payoff and hopefully moving in the summer of 2012. My kids are even getting excited about it. When we listen to the Friday podcasts my daughter yells along – I quickly realized that she was yelling “We’re dead-free!” I told her that it wasn’t dead but debt. I guess technically we’re dead-free already…because we’re alive. It’s cute, nonetheless.

Now that school is out I’m planning on posting more here as it is part of my business expansion goals, as well.
